Liverpool Voices Festival 2018

Do you love to sing? Are you a solo singer, member of a choir or in a band? Whether you are a beginner or an experienced singer, this interactive day has been created especially for you. Curated by artistic director Jennifer John, Liverpool Voices Festival will focus on vocal techniques, harmony work and performance skills. There will also be the opportunity to learn some new and exciting repertoire. The master classes are designed to be energetic, uplifting and fun. On the day you will participate in 4 master classes:

  • Musical Theatre
  • Pop, Rock and Soul
  • Commercial Pop
  • Gospel

All are welcome aged 16 and above.

Early bird tickets are currently available until April 13th for £25. After that the cost will be £30.

Music for Youth presents… Frequencies

Musician of any style, aged 21 or under? Try out new sounds, perform live on stage, collaborate with professionals and other upcoming artists, and meet industry representatives from Universal Music.

Taking over Hoxton Hall for our first London event of 2017, Frequencies is back in the capital and bigger than ever. And it’s a Sunday, what else would you be doing on a Sunday?

Pride 2017

Jennifer will be conducting a spectacular massed singing event at this year’s Pride celebrations on Sunday 30th July. The event, which will feature 6 choirs will be a show in 2 halves. The first half will showcase the 6 choirs singing 2 songs each and the featured choirs are:

  • Sunlight Unplugged
  • Over The Water
  • Up For Arts Community Choir
  • Liverpool LGBT choir
  • Handbag of Harmonies

The second half will see all the choirs join together for a 30 minute massed singing performance of well known songs and Jennifer’s own composition, Love Sings. Thomas Lang is the special guest and will be joining the massed singing section by leading on Wonderful World. This year’s theme is International Love and the the repertoire of well known songs will reflect this.

The event starts at 3pm. Come along, bring your families, friends and voices to join in with what promises to be a joyous, harmonious sing along.

SINGERS: How to audition successfully

Jennifer John is a vocal coach on ITV’s The Voice and The Voice Kids. Her extensive career as a vocal coach and specialist in Artist Development for singers has seen her work nationally and internationally. As co-founder of award winning company Sense of Sound she has worked with and inspired thousands of people throughout her 25 year career as lecturer, mentor and vocal coach.

On Sunday July 16th Jennifer will be delivering a masterclass at Rare Studio in Liverpool city centre.

The Masterclass will cover the following:

  • Vocal techniques and warm ups
  • Presentation skills
  • The importance of body language and personality
  • Best song choices to compliment vocal quality
  • The importance of authenticity

*This Masterclass is open to those aged 16 and above

The launch of Love Sings at Light Night, 19th May 2017!

This is about all of us singing together in the spirit of co-creativity and joy!

On 19th May, in Liverpool City Centre, Light Night 2017 will take place. Amidst a wealth of hyper-creativity, Love Sings will be launched. The company specialises in massed singing events, the purpose of which is to promote social cohesion and positivity. Led by Jennifer John, the evening will entail an hour-long massed singing event in which all participants will learn an original song from start to finish.
